Following a review of our popular CQ2 compact cylinder Series our R&D engineers have totally redesigned the complete cylinder range to bring you even more performance benefits and increased cylinder options. The major difference between the new CQ2 range and the old model is the totally redesigned body, which offers improved auto-switch mounting possibilities plus an overall reduction of cylinder weight of between 5 -13% depending on the model. Now, all CQ2 cylinders from Ø 32 to 200mm are designed with slide in grooves which can accommodate auto-switches on all four cylinder sides without the need for auto-switch brackets. And, for smaller bore sizes between Ø 12 and 25mm, slide in grooves have also been integrated in the new body design to accommodate bracket free auto-switches on two surfaces. Designed for use with our simple to set, dual colour, solid state auto-switches, the integrated auto-switch channel ensures total protection against potential accidental damage and improved health and safety benefits during both installation and maintenance procedures.
European machine builders looking for a range of high performance ISO 21287 compliant compact actuators need look no further thanks to the latest development from world leaders, SMC Pneumatics, with the launch of their new generation – Series C55, double acting, single rod, air operated cylinders.Designed to meet a broad range of automation machine applications, Series C55 achieves outstanding load performance thanks to its unique rubber bumpers, piston wear ring and rod bushing which are used throughout the complete range. Therefore, European machine builders looking for an ISO compact cylinder with stroke lengths of up to150mm including the benefits of standardised mounting dimensions, now have the perfect solution.Available in standard bore sizes of: 20, 25, 32, 40, 50, 63, 80 y 100mm, with piston speeds of between 50 – 500mm/sec, these cylinders are designed to operate using relatively low air pressure of between 0.05 – 1.0 MPa and at ambient and fluid temperatures of between minus 10ºC to plus 70ºC.With standardised mounting options conforming both ISO 21287 and 6431, this new cylinder range effectively complete SMC´s comprehensive line up of ISO/VDMA compliant cylinders.
The C95 is ISO, VDMA24562 interchangeable, and utilizes a tie rod construction. In addition to standard cushions and wear band, the C95 utilizes a "floating" cushion seal design that greatly improves operation. SMC's exclusive "figure 8" seal insures long cycle life.
This product is being discontinued and will be replaced by C96-C (ø32-ø100) series.
With the expansion of our Series C(P)96 ISO range, we can now offer our customers even greater flexibility and cylinder performance. Now available in a non rotating rod type (CP96K(W)/C96K(W)), these cylinders offer great precision and deliver non-rotating accuracy of ±0.5º or ±0.3º in Ø32 to Ø63 or Ø80 and Ø100 bore size respectively. Also, we have introduced a smooth cylinder type, with reduced piston sliding resistance (C96Y) which is particularly suitable for transfer applications requiring smooth movements at low pressure. For applications in explosive atmospheres, the C(P)96 range is now available in an ATEX compliant version (55-C(P)96 which meets ATEX category zone 2, or category zone 3 when fitted with an auto-switch). With a growing range of "made to order" options available as standard and a choice of rod boot materials, there has never been a better time to check out our Series C(P)96 cylinder range.
Series CP95 is a profile design ISO/VDMA air cylinder. Tie rods are enclosed in an extruded aluminum profile barrel, which is integrated with both end covers to achieve a smooth and attractive appearance. Piston rod lurching has been eliminated at the end of stroke positions by means of a floating seal mechanism. High accuracy covers and tie rod nuts simplify the mounting process and also extend cylinder life.

Low friction characteristics are improved with the use of the CQ2X low speed cylinder series. Minimum operating pressure is cut in half, compared to previous series, while achieving stable thrust. All microspeed cylinders have the same dimensions as the standard cylinders.
