Sustainable Development Goals

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), also known as the Global Goals, were adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity by 2030.
The 17 SDGs are integrated—that is, they recognize that action in one area will affect outcomes in others, and that development must balance social, economic and environmental sustainability. (www.undp.org)

• Healthy, safe and secure working environment
• Human resource development and diffusion of automatic control technology for the development base
• Social contribution activities.

Some examples that illustrate our commitment towards SDGs are:

• SMC contributes to society as a whole by reducing environmental impacts through the sales of automatic control equipment. In addition, SMC is working to develop products with even greater energy-savings, air-savings, space-savings and weight reductions.
• Through its network of manufacturing, sales, and research and development sites around the world, SMC provides products that address customersʼ needs in every region.
• With consideration to the environment, SMC is working to reduce chemical substances, waste, water and energy consumption.
• SMC is promoting the employment of a diverse worforce and striving to create an equal working environment for all.
• SMC participates in green conservation activities in regions where its factories are located, and carries out activities to protect the natural environment.
