Smartlift, a leading manufacturer of innovative lifting solutions, has optimized their vacuum technology in collaboration with SMC. By integrating SMC's products, Smartlift has achieved a more digital and efficient solution that not only improves their production processes but also delivers a modern and user-friendly experience for their customers. This partnership has proven to be a win-win for both parties, with SMC's expertise and robust products playing a crucial role in Smartlift's success.
Transition to digital & flexible vacuum control
Previously, Smartlift used a vacuum switch with fixed programmed values. This posed challenges when there was a need to change the vacuum level, requiring the purchase of a new vacuum switch. They desired a more digital and flexible vacuum control. SMC’s product ZSE can turn the pump on and off while displaying the vacuum level. In all new machines, it is now digital with SMC. SMC was chosen due to their expertise, suitable products, and ability to transition to a more digital solution.
A long-term partnership with quality and robustness
When Smartlift develops their machines and products, they will continue to use SMC as their product supplier. They currently have a very good vacuum system and do not intend to change it. The strong collaboration ensures that SMC remains integrated into their machines.
”We need suppliers like SMC, who have the expertise to choose the right products to optimize production.” says Morten Rosengreen, Head of Development for Smartlift.
”At Smartlift, we prioritize quality and robustness, and with SMC, we complete the quality checks we conduct every two months.” says Hans Jørgen, Purchaser at Smartlift.
”We have no delivery issues with your products at all. We simply send an email to SMC if we want changes, and thenwe have a dialogue about it.” continues Hans Jørgen.
Advantages of SMC as a supplier
- Previously, the operator had to manually activate and deactivate the vacuum; now it is remote-controlled.
- The price remains unchanged, but customers receive a more modern solution.
- Flexibility - SMC is always ready to meet new needs.
- Quality - SMC’s products are robust.
Vacuum products in use
- Check valves that ensure vacuum is not lost when an object is being held.
- 3-port solenoid valves used to open and close the vacuum.
- Vacuum filters placed between the suction cups and the solenoid valve.
- Vacuum switch that indicates the desired vacuum has been achieved on the object, making it ready for lifting.
“We are experts in making smart lifters. We are skilled in many aspects of vacuum technology, but this is not our area of expertise. We need someone we can call, and SMC is at the top of the list.” - Morten Rosengreen, Head of Development for Smartlift.
