We are proud to reveal our latest tie rod air cylinder, the CA2-Z Series which promises to provide our customers with a competitive edge. The rod and head covers have been re-designed so the CA2-Z is up to 15% lighter than its predecessor. Further performance improvements have been achieved thanks to the introduction of a three turn adjustment range to the cushion valve, delivering easier control, smoother operation at the stroke end and labour cost savings for setting the cylinder speed. It comes with a variety of mounting brackets, as well as compact or magnetic field resistant auto switches that can be mounted on 4 tie-rods. In addition to the broad range of standard designs, there are a number of made to order options, making the CA2-Z ideal across a broad range of industries.
We are proud to introduce our Series CM2-Z round air cylinder. This new model delivers improved assembly time and reduced maintenance costs thanks to the auto-switch position, which can be altered by the loosening of just one screw. The addition of a transparent auto switch bracket provides improved visibility of the status of the switch and the Series delivers extra flexibility including the option of male and female rods. Where space is at a premium, you can select a female rod end (up to 29 mm shorter) and/or boss-cut type (up to 16 mm shorter). With a wide range of mounting brackets available, the CM2-Z also delivers greater mounting flexibility, making it ideal for use in applications such as pick and place, positioning and clamping.
Following a review of our popular CQ2 compact cylinder Series our R&D engineers have totally redesigned the complete cylinder range to bring you even more performance benefits and increased cylinder options. The major difference between the new CQ2 range and the old model is the totally redesigned body, which offers improved auto-switch mounting possibilities plus an overall reduction of cylinder weight of between 5 -13% depending on the model. Now, all CQ2 cylinders from Ø 32 to 200mm are designed with slide in grooves which can accommodate auto-switches on all four cylinder sides without the need for auto-switch brackets. And, for smaller bore sizes between Ø 12 and 25mm, slide in grooves have also been integrated in the new body design to accommodate bracket free auto-switches on two surfaces. Designed for use with our simple to set, dual colour, solid state auto-switches, the integrated auto-switch channel ensures total protection against potential accidental damage and improved health and safety benefits during both installation and maintenance procedures.

Maintenance has been simplified by allowing the cylinder to be detached without disturbing the guide unit and work piece.
Following customer requests for range of easy to maintain rotary clamp cylinders with a good selection of stroke variations and dual mounting options, our R&D engineers have simply taken the best features of two existing SMC products – Series MK and MK2 - and put them together in our newly amalgamated and improved Series MK. Available in bore sizes from 12 to 63mm and in clamp stroke lengths up to 50mm depending on the selected model, the new MK Series helps answer our customer's needs with the option of both body and through hole mounting selections and easy maintenance possibilities with fully replaceable seals and guide pins. Designed for use with our compact D-M9 auto switch, which can be mounted on all four sides (only 2 sides in the case of 20 and 25mm) these new rotary clamp cylinders when required can also be used in conjunction with our magnetic field resistant auto switch Series D-P3DW.
The C76 series air cylinders offer a simple, space saving design with high dimensional accuracy, making these cylinders very easy to use. Large spanner flats on the rod and head covers greatly simplify their installation and positioning. Low friction and the standard elastomer cushion rings allow piston speeds up to 1500mm/sec. Greater side loads are allowed due to the close tolerance of the piston rod in the front-end bush.
Series CM2 stainless steel cylinders are compact, lightweight and offer high performance. Improved piston seal and rod seal greatly improve the unit's life. Rubber bumpers are standard. The CM2 series offers a variety of mounting options and is auto switch capable.
This product is being discontinued and will be replaced by CP96-C (ø32-ø100) series.
With the expansion of our Series C(P)96 ISO range, we can now offer our customers even greater flexibility and cylinder performance. Now available in a non rotating rod type (CP96K(W)/C96K(W)), these cylinders offer great precision and deliver non-rotating accuracy of ±0.5º or ±0.3º in Ø32 to Ø63 or Ø80 and Ø100 bore size respectively. Also, we have introduced a smooth cylinder type, with reduced piston sliding resistance (C96Y) which is particularly suitable for transfer applications requiring smooth movements at low pressure. For applications in explosive atmospheres, the C(P)96 range is now available in an ATEX compliant version (55-C(P)96 which meets ATEX category zone 2, or category zone 3 when fitted with an auto-switch). With a growing range of "made to order" options available as standard and a choice of rod boot materials, there has never been a better time to check out our Series C(P)96 cylinder range.

Air cylinder series CA2 has been introduced with specifications and dimensions equivalent to the existing CA1 series. Several improvements have been made to the CA2 series including lateral load improvement, increase in cushioning capacity and adoption of the new cushion seal. There has been enhanced efficiency in handling for cushion valve adjustment and weight has been reduced by 5 to 15%. Stock control of the compact auto switches is easy, since a wide variety of auto switches are available.
When car industry experts work alongside research and development engineers from SMC Pneumatics, the world leaders in automation control, theres only one possible outcome the perfect solution! Just one example of this on-going collaboration is SMC´s latest air operated pin clamp cylinder Series CKQ providing simultaneous positioning and clamping.Designed primarily for use in welding and sheet metal applications, this range of spatter resistant double acting cylinders are currently available in four body type options including lock or without lock models. With further choices of either round or diamond type guide pins, to suit hole diameters from 13mm to 25mm, their unique stainless steel construction combined with a outer coating of titanium nitrate (TiN) ensures maximum operational lifetime and increased weld spatter resistance.Other features include the possibility of altering the height of the clamp position by up to 2mm by simply removing the shims, making last minute adjustments a straight forward exercise. Additionally, ease of maintenance has also been recognised by the inclusion of four separate cleaning covers allowing for any weld spatter entering the cylinder to be easily removed without the need of complete cylinder dis-assembly. Designed to operate at piston speeds of 50 to 300 mm/sec, at a maximum operating pressure of 0,7 MPa and within ambient fluid temperature ranges of between minus10º to plus 60ºC, these pin clamp cylinders really are the perfect solution.
SMC's power clamp cylinder, series CKZT, was designed with a rounded cover design and release button with minimal protrusion to reduce weld spatter accumulation. The arm opening angle can be easily changed by replacing the stopper bolt. Series CKZT is available with G or NPT threads and bore sizes equivalent to 40, 50, 63 and 80mm.
If you are looking for a compact Clamp Cylinder with lock then simply look no further than our newly improved Series CLK2 range.
