Pressrelease: Avoid moisture with SMC’s new condensation checker

Pressrelease: Avoid moisture with SMC’s new condensation checker

SMC has introduced the PSH condensation checker, a device for cost-effective monitoring of temperature and humidity in pneumatic systems with full communicaton possibilities. This tool helps prevent condensation, which can cause malfunctions and costly repairs. It benefits design engineers, quality inspectors, and maintenance technicians by ensuring high-quality compressed air in various applications, such as machine tools, laser machining heads, and food packaging equipment.

SMC’s new PSH condensation checker is designed to monitor the temperature and humidity of compressed air, helping customers detect potential condensation issues. This compact device integrates a sensor and display, minimizing space requirements and eliminating the need for separate products. It can connect directly to SMC’s membrane dryer and air combination units, making it a comprehensive solution for maintaining dry, clean compressed air.

The PSH series is compatible with IO-Link and allows easy serial communication with remote monitoring of temperature (0 to 50ºC) and humidity (0 to 100%). It outputs data as switch (PNP/NPN), analogue voltage, and IO-Link – all to facilitate condition monitoring and remote confirmation of relative humidity and temperature. The user-friendly two-level screen, which can rotate 360º, displays temperature or humidity at site, with additional readings and status indicators.

”For engineers and technicians looking to avoid the problems that condensation brings, such as the failure and replacement of system-critical components like valves and actuators, SMC’s new PSH series offers a genuine solution.” says Magnus Karlström, product manager at SMC.
