At SMC we are proud to unveil our latest new product, the LFE Series electromagnetic digital flow switch, which has a compact and lightweight design. The lack of moving parts or electrodes in the fluid path removes the risk of blockages, and offers the benefit of being maintenance free, as well as an extended service life. It can manage any conductive fluids of at least 5µS/cm, such as water and water-soluble coolant that are compatible with the materials they touch (PPS, FKM and brass). The LFE also has a good range capability of 40:1, flow range up to 200L/min and temperature range of up to 85°C. The flow direction can be altered post installation without changing the piping, offering additional labour savings. It's economical to operate due to its low pressure loss of 0.02MPa or less. The LFE is available with an optional integrated 3-colour/2-screen display or separate sensor/monitor that offers clear visibility of the flow rate and other parameters such as set, accumulated and peak/bottom values simultaneously. In addition, select response times from 0.25 up to 5 seconds are possible, whilst retaining repeatability of ±2%F.S. The LFE is ideal for applications where control of the cooling water flow is required, for example, welding gun, leakage control for the tip, metal mould and aqueous coolant.
