At SMC we are continuously investing in research and development to refine and improve the performance and functionality of our products as well as develop new innovations to drive energy savings and deliver competitive advantages for our customers. The relaunch of the popular VDW series, compact direct operated 2 port solenoid valve, is a good representation of that. VDW´s main feature is its IP65 enclosure, which protects the valve against dust and water sprayed from all directions. Also, with the size one conventional model being 10% smaller and more lightweight, the VDW can be used in narrow spaces, making it extremely flexible. The VDW uses less power, from as little as 2.5W up to 3W in the larger model and apparent power of 2.5VA and 3VA, when compared to similar products. This makes it ideal for dental units, water curtain manufacture and lens polishing processes that use air, medium vacuum and water applications that don't require a large flow. Available in a wide range of body materials with two new additions, Aluminium and PPS resin, combined with the existing options of Brass C37 and Stainless Steel, the VDW also has two seal material options of NBR and FKM.
SMC high purity HYPER FITTING series LQ* responds to the latest demands in process control. From parts cleaning to assembly and packaging, all processes are controlled for cleanliness, and the use of new PFA virtually eliminates particle generation and TOC (total organic carbon) allowing confident use for the most demanding applications. If chemistries or flow requirements are changed duing process, our face seal design allows for quick change of tubing, and/or tube diameters, using the same fitting body.
Series PA is a double acting, compact, large capacity diaphragm pump suitable for transfer and recovery of a wide variety of fluids. The PA series is available in 3 types; automatically operated, air operated or automatically operated with a built-in pulsation attenuator.
Semiconductor and LCD manufacturers now have a perfect pump solution with the launch of the new PAF diaphragm pump from SMC. Designed specifically to meet industry demands, this high performance fluororesin pump is constructed with non metallic body parts to ensure perfect compatibility when using high purity chemicals.With all wetted parts made from either new PFA or PTFE, the PAF´s premium chemical and temperature characteristics are further enhanced with use of PFA-PPS dual construction to improve both proof pressure and heat cycle performance.Currently available in two options, an automatically operated type with a solenoid valve built into the pump body or an air operated type where the valve and electrical circuit are separated from the pump, the PAF offers a lightweight, compact, high flow rate solution to meet the most demanding of needs. Additional features include the option to include an optical leak detector which can provide an early warning signal of diaphragm failure and in the case of the air operated type, the addition of mounted optical stroke sensors to ensure stable operation of the pump and accurate cycle monitoring.
The PB series is a compact, single acting diaphragm pump which is suitable for transfer and recovery of a wide variety of fluids. The PB series is available with a built-in solenoid valve or in an air operated style. Space is saved due to the centralization of piping and wiring areas on the top and bottom surfaces.
Series TIL high purity fluoropolymer tubing is available as standard in inch sizes of 50' and 100' rolls. The TIL series has outstanding corrosion resistance, compatible with chemicals such as acids, bases and ultrapure water. The TIL series is also compatible with maximum fluid temperatures of up to 200°C.
Series TL high purity fluoropolymer tubing is available as standard in metric sizes of 10m or 20m rolls. The TL series has outstanding corrosion resistance, compatible with chemicals such as acids, bases and ultrapure water.
Process Industry and PET machine builder's requests for both 2 and 3 port, pilot operated, solenoid valves, with high pressure performance are now answered with the launch of SMC's latest Series VCH range.Designed for use with air or inert gas, these new valves can operate up to a maximum pressure of 5.0 MPa thereby substantially exceeding SMC's existing VXH high pressure series. With large flow passages, and ISO1179-1 conforming port thread sizes of G1/2 to G1, high flow rates are ensured and due to a reduction in the overall volume of the pilot chamber their responsiveness can now only be measured in milliseconds.Additionally, the VCH range offers enclosure protection equivalent to IP65 and a DIN type electrical connector as standard and due to its unique collision-less armature construction, with rubber buffers and urethane diaphragm, early indications have confirmed that the valves operation life time will exceed 10 million cycles.Currently the VCH Series is available in four different valve configurations; 2 port valve normally closed - VCH41, 2 port valve normally open - VCH 42, our 3 port option - VCH410, plus a check valve - VCHC40.

The VDW200/300 series is a compact, direct operated, 3 port solenoid valve for water, air and vacuum. The use of a unique magnetic material reduces the operating resistance of moving parts, improving service life, wear and corrosion resistance.
The VN series is a combination of process valves that can be operated with pressure differential zero and comes with many variations. The VNA series is used for controlling pneumatic systems or air-hydro circuits. The VNB series controls various fluids. VNC is used for controlling the cutting oils and coolants used in machine tools. VNH is for controlling high pressure cutting oils and coolants used in machine tools, and the VND series is for steam control.
The VQ20/30 series is a pilot operated, two port multi-media valve. The series is compact and lightweight with a large flow capacity. The VQ20/30's long life, high speed coil (up to 20 million cycles at 100cps for pneumatic use) along with its all plastic construction, make it an excellent choice for those who want high performance at a lower cost.
Industrial applications requiring a 2 port solenoid valve now have an enhanced option following the release of our new, improved VX2 Valve Series. Developed as a part of our on-going product improvement programme, the new Series VX2, which is suitable for air, medium vacuum, water or oil, now offers considerable performance advantages when compared to our previous VX21 solenoid valve model. With its modern urban white outer appearance, Series VX2 is around 10% smaller and 30% lighter compared to our old Series VX21 valve due in part to its resin and aluminium body construction, yet it still delivers around 20% increased flow rate performance. Incorporating a rubber bumper to reduce valve noise during operation and featuring one touch fitting for speed of installation, Series VX2 offers improved durability and reduced apparent power – up to 20VA.
The VX31/32/33 series is a direct operated, 3 port solenoid valve, for use with a wide variety of fluids. When used in combination with the manifold, configuration can be changed from N.C. to N.O. and from N.O. to N.C. by simply changing a gasket. Valves are easily replaced without changing existing piping.
