Following the success of our EX120 Serial Interface Series we are please to confirm that we have now extended this range with the addition of some CompoNet™ protocol compliant versions. Designed for use with our popular SV1/2/3/4000, SY3/5000 and VQ1/2000 valve ranges, these new Fieldbus units ensure high speed response performance (approximately 1024 points in 1 ms) and multiple point capabilities (384 slaves per master). For ease of installation, the Series EX120/121/122 ranges can be used with either round or flat ribbon communication cables.
Serial Transmission Kit EX140.Simplification and labour savings for wiring work can be achieved by using a serial transmission unit. The maximum number of stations is 8 (16 optional). For type J2 and R2 only, the maximum number of stations is4 (8 optional). For series ZQ and SQ1000/2000.
EX180 serial wiring.CC-Link (32 outputs), DeviceNet (32,16 outputs)Easy attaching/detaching of the SI unit and wiring by connectors.Separated valve power unit and transmission power unit / Ensuring safety at maintenance.Selectable between T-branch and straight type of communication connector.
EX250 is a serial interface unit controlling up to 32 solenoids. This serial interface is compatible with series VQC1000/2000/4000 and SV1000/2000/3000 valves. Available protocols include DeviceNet, CC-Link, AS-i, Profibus-DP, and CANopen. Input modules can be added or removed at the point of use.
Serial interface unit EX500 is capable of controlling up to 64 solenoids, and is compatible with SV1000/2000/3000/4000, VQC1000/2000/4000 valves. The EX500 makes it possible to connect up to 4 valve manifolds with up to 16 solenoids each. Available protocols include DeviceNet, CC-Link and Profibus-DP.
With increased industry requests for smaller gateway serial interface units using less wiring and offering easier installation, development engineers from SMC, the world´s leading automation control experts, could not resist the call. The result of their endeavours can now be seen with the launch of their latest decentralised gateway type Serial Transmission System – Series EX510. Designed for use across a broad range of applications, the EX510 is ideal for processing both input and output commands from a PLC across a field bus network. Benefits of its decentralised design include a reduction of system wiring and PLC size, when compared to similar parallel type wired systems, and the fact that I/O units can be placed up to 20 metres away from the gateway unit to get even closer to the application. Compatible with CC-Link, DeviceNet and Profibus network protocols, the Series EX510 gateway unit can also accommodate up to 64 inputs and 64 outputs. Additional design features include the provision of 4 input and 4 output branches which effectively means that it's possible to connect several distributed valves and sensors including pressure, flow and auto switches to one gateway unit.Series EX510 has also been designed with ease of installation in mind, so all the units can be DIN rail mounted and include press fit connectors that don´t require the connecting wire to be stripped. Further time saving benefits can also be made as the EX510 is also available with pre-wired and mounted manifold units using SMC´s popular SY, SYJ or VQZ valve ranges.
