New electric actuator makes light work of heavy loads
SMC is releasing its LET-X11 series of high-performance belt-driven electric actuators, which provide users with a number of key advantages. Alongside exceptional speed and load capabilities, LET-X11 electric actuators offer lightweight yet robust construction, easy maintenance and advanced auto switch mounting. These versatile products are also suitable for high-speed vertical transfer applications.
Dynamic performance
Among the key contributors to the actuator’s speed is its AC servo motor, which is able to deliver nominal torque across the entire nominal speed range. The motor's mounting flexibility, with four possible positions, supports actuator adaptability in different set-ups.
SMC LET-X11 electric actuators are also suitable for use in high-speed vertical transfer applications, supporting loads up to 70 kg. Such capability is extremely useful in motion control tasks where space and efficiency are critical.
Maintaining the advantage
As a further advantage, maintenance is effortless thanks to an integrated cover on the top and end of the housing, providing a large opening for easy replacement of the timing belt. This feature significantly reduces downtime and maintenance costs. A robust construction based on the use of strong engineering materials provides further support for a trouble-free service life. In addition, there is no potential for interference with the workpiece, eliminating any opportunity for damage and subsequent repairs.
The LET-X11 is compatible with the D-M9 series solid-state auto switch and can accommodate commercially available inductive sensors (with adjustments). This flexibility in sensor compatibility is a further attribute of the product's versatility.
Selecting the optimal LET-X11 electric actuator model depends on a number of key criteria, including the required work load/speed, cycle time and allowable moment. SMC customer support experts are on hand to help any company looking to optimise the selection and application of electric actuators.
