Thanks to its lightweight body and reduced length, our updated Series CY1S-Z magnetically coupled rodless cylinder now delivers improved performance. Weighing 15% less and up to 15mm shorter than previous models, the new CY1S-Z is ideal for applications where relatively light loads need to be moved at low or medium speeds and where space is at a premium. The design offers increased flexibility with a wide range of bilateral and central piping and stroke adjustment options. Thanks to the adjustment bolt, the stroke ends position can be maintained without the need for adjusting the stroke which delivers improved accuracy and repeatability. The auto switch mounting moves forward as the switches can be located in any position and a switch mounting rail is fitted as standard. The Series is highly durable as lub-retainers are mounted on the internal and external surfaces of the cylinder tube to maintain lubrication.
With no external leakage, the CY series can be used in many diverse environments. Magnetically coupled cylinders have a wide range of applications, and save mounting space. Loads and moments are possible through the use of integrated guides. A variety of guides can be used to achieve the necessary accuracy or allowable moment needed for your application. CY is available in 9 bore sizes, from 6mm to 63mm with standard stokes up to 1000mm. The 5 different model variations offer widest application choice. Auto switches are integrated as standard.
High speed or high load cylinder applications frequently require additional speed and flow control devices to control the stopping of the load. SMC's RHC series features a longer cushion design which is capable of stopping heavy or high speed loads while maintaining the simplicity of a standard air cushion cylinder. This enhanced cushion allows the kinetic distance, which results in the ability to absorb up to 23.8 ft-lb of energy and operate reliably at speeds up to 118 in/sec. Even with the improved performance of the RHC, cushion adjustment remains as simple as adjusting the cushion needle valve.
