SMC’s latest valve offers a modular solution for FRL units

The latest VP#17 Series from SMC completes the portfolio of 3 port pressure relief valves for FRL (Filter Regulator Lubricator) units, where electrically operated valves are required.

SMC, the worldwide leading expert in pneumatics, has launched the VP#17 modular valve series that enables easy connection to FRL units and removes the need for piping adapters allowing for space savings.

These residual pressure relief type valves are suitable for any pneumatic application with air preparation equipment, where it’s necessary to exhaust the pressure in the line or carry out maintenance.

Efficiencies can be found in the amount of energy consumed, with as little as 0.35 W required to operate the DC type. Flexibility is achieved when it comes to mounting as it’s possible to select the flow direction of left to right or right to left, and its IP65 enclosure allows the valves to be used in a variety of environments.

A spokesperson from SMC said: “The VP#17 completes our range of 3 port valves that can be connected to FRL units. In addition to these electrically operated valves, our range also includes manually operated valves [VHS], soft start up function [AV] and safety standard compliant valves [VG/VP] that offer the adaptability that our customers have come to expect from SMC.”
